Having spent almost ten years of his life in The United States and away from his family, our Chairman Mr. Shaji Mathew recalls the days of missing home and the taste of the food prepared at home.
Inception
He started cooking his favorite meals by himself with the little tips from his dear wife and the traditional recipes passed on from his mother. It was at that time that he paid attention to the different tastes and flavors of food.
from a dream to reality
With an ardent desire to feed home-prepared food to his fellow immigrants (pravasees), Mr. Shaji and his wife brought out the best of flavors and spices from Kerala to over five other countries abroad.
Where it began
Mrs. Susan Shaji and several other housewives come together to create flavorsome food passed on from many generations before them. Some of our favorite 4 o’clock snacks like parippu vada (lentil fritters), Kerala banana fry, Spicy Kerala mixtures, Tapioca chips, and crispy Jackfruit chips are prepared at Wynad Exports in the goodness of healthy ingredients.
OUR STRONG PILLARS
Mr. Shaji Mathew
Having spent 10 years of his life in the United States of America where he worked in a food-related field toiling day and night. He reminisces his grandfather’s great dream for him to start up his own business. He always encouraged them to pursue their dreams and to stand on their own two feet and this played a very big role in transforming Mr. Shaji Mathew into the successful entrepreneur that we know him as today and has helped transform his dream into the big reality ‘Wynad Exports’.
Mrs. Susan Shaji
Wynad Export’s pillar of strength Mrs. Susan Shaji helped in building the business from scratch. She started preparing pickles and various other eateries from her own recipes, initiated to export these products abroad while Mr. Shaji Mathew was at the other end of the distribution channel in the USA. Their coordination, teamwork and support are what made it all happen and it is something we all can look up to even today.
